Meta Captain Ball Tournament 2007!!

Yeah guys!!
As announced in d blog, La Salle CF held a Meta CaptainBall Tournament on the 1st of May and the turn out was great!!
We've got around 18 teams in d list and all of them did awesome job in trying to be the champion.

I'm gonna start blogging from THE DAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT where all the preparations were made.

On the 30th of April, Brian, Jonathan Lim, An Drew, and I, later joined by Keik Wee, Calvin Teh, as well as Mathiew went roaming around Taman Chi Liung to get all the materials needed.
Well I'm gonna cut this short. (LOL)
Everyone did something and An Drew, Jonathan, and I slept over at Brian's house to finish every unfinished stuff.
Even on the very last day, Brian still ponders hard to make the event perfect.

After that we're all set!!
we went to sleep after chit chatting for sometime and Alex Yong joined us in the middle of the night(O_O) and we slept. Pity Alex Yong.. *Don't ask why XD


ON THAT DAY
All of us woke up early on that day, for we have to be as early as possible and set up all the courts as well as arrange the tables, etc. in order.
The 18 teams were divided into 4 Groups through a fair Draw-Lot thingy.

Group A:
BING BANG BALLS
NEVER SURRENDER
BACKTRUST
TATSAI
BUGGERS

Group B:
WHATEVERLARR
FU-YOH
ON-FIRE!
GROUPIY NBC

Group C:
TEAM FALCON
TAKE-OFF-HER-SKIRT
ANGELS & DEVILS
UNSTOPPABLE
RM

Group D:
003 SAFETY
ANYTHING
ETERNAL FUSION
IKAN BILIS

Most teams had a tough match against others and finally the results are:

Bing Bang Balls and Tatsai advance to the Quarter Finals in Group A while Fu-Yoh and Whateverlarr advance in Group B

RM and Team Falcon advance to the Quarter Finals in Group C while Anything and Ikan Bilis advance in Group D

The matches in Quarter Final were between:
WHATEVERLARR and TATSAI (WHATEVERLARR WON)
TEAM FALCON and BING BANG BALLS (BING BANG BALLS WON)
R.M. and IKAN BILIS (IKAN BILIS WON)
FU-YOH and ANYTHING (FU-YOH WON)

In the Semi-Finals, WHATEVERLARR played against BING BANG BALLS and the outcome was superb, the actually drew and played extra time. Unfortunately for BING BANG BALLS, WHATEVERLARR somehow did a better job and defeated them.
On the other hand, FU-YOH and IKAN BILIS had a tough match against each other and they are both equally strong. However, after 14 minutes of playing, FU-YOH outscored IKAN BILIS.

Yeap, so the finalists are FU-YOH and WHATEVERLARR.
The finals was really a great game!
WHATEVERLARR was leading at the last minute and FU-YOH scored an equalizer just before the final whistle.
Eventhough they put on a real fight, WHATEVERLARR finally beat FU-YOH in the extra time and became the CHAMPION. Players from both teams were really great! Especially the girls from team WHATEVERLARR (They really scored alot!!)! Team FU-YOH too did real great, they might have won without the points system handicap (girls score = 2 points; boys score = 1 point)

Oh yeah! Almost forgot, BING BANG BALLS beat IKAN BILIS in the 3rd and 4th placing!
